hail damageHail Storm Damage, Perth.

Perth does not usually sustain hail damage but on Monday 22nd March a massive storm hit the city of Perth causing extensive damage to vehicles and properties. The damage of the storm has now been estimated to exceed $900 million dollars and it could take between 1 and 2 years to repair all the damage.

Panel beaters in Perth have been in short supply of spare parts for cars (bonnets, roofs etc) due to the Melbourne hail storm which also caused much damage. Hotels and motels were booked out throughout Perth as residents who had their homes damaged were seeking refuge in them.

Shortly after the Perth Storm, The Ding King was inundated with phone calls and still today receiving over hundred calls per day regarding hail damaged cars. Since the Ding King has brought in European hail technicians to help clear the huge backlog of work.

If you have sustained heavy hail damage on your vehicle please contact your insurance company or alternatively use our ONLINE contact form.

Paintless Dent Repair (PDR)

In the past small dings and dents were traditionally repaired by Panel Shops via panel beating, filling and painting. However today, thanks to thinner and higher quality steel and more flexible paints there are alternative repair methods available such as PDR (Paintless Dent Repair). PDR can be applied in situations of panel damage whereby the paint has remained intact.

Using specially designed hand tools, the PDR technician skillfully and very patiently lever the panel from behind, back into the original shape. Amazing as it is a perfect unblemished paint finish is retained. Best results are achieved on new and/or late model cars due to maximum flexibility of the paint. Size can vary from pin to dinner plate size.

The repair result depends on the severity of the damage but generally varies between 90 – 100%.

Our repairs are free of “high spots” and “pick marks” and our advanced method does not involve hammering the panel (as used with older techniques). The original rust proofing remains intact as there is no metal to metal contact in the repair process.
