Paintless Dent Repair (PDR)
In the past small dings and dents were traditionally repaired by Panel Shops via panel beating, filling and painting. However today, thanks to thinner and higher quality steel and more flexible paints there are alternative repair methods available such as PDR (Paintless Dent Repair). PDR can be applied in situations of panel damage whereby the paint has remained intact.
Using specially designed hand tools, the PDR technician skillfully and very patiently lever the panel from behind, back into the original shape. Amazing as it is a perfect unblemished paint finish is retained. Best results are achieved on new and/or late model cars due to maximum flexibility of the paint. Size can vary from pin to dinner plate size.
The repair result depends on the severity of the damage but generally varies between 90 – 100%.
Our repairs are free of “high spots” and “pick marks” and our advanced method does not involve hammering the panel (as used with older techniques). The original rust proofing remains intact as there is no metal to metal contact in the repair process.
Why are some dent guys much cheaper?!
Here is a picture of a cheap "attempted repair" done by an inexperienced dent technician. The repair now needs to be re-done by a panel shop at 3x my original quote.
A proper repair takes more time and is therefore more expensive.
The “sting” of a seemingly expensive repair is quickly forgotten after a satisfying outcome. However, the anger about a badly done job will linger for a very long time.
